Have been spending most of the last few days getting my head around how to customise the Adobe Portfolio software. This involved a fair bit of YouTubing and needless to say there really is a bunch of useless shit posted up there. After two days I found three that really did help and I can point in their direction if it is of any interest to anyone.
Site isn't anything to write home about yet but my Mojo has gone from comatose to biting my arse for being so slow. Can't win 'em all.
Having sorted the basics for creating the site I find I have to get back to basics, most of which are tied into Lightroom and its functions. This is not really a chore for me, but it has meant getting up and running with its inner workings again. Over the years I have essentially only used it as a Digital Asset Management tool, most of my editing being done in Photoshop.
Sooo, having headed over there I found that I had 14,000 plus images without keywords, makes searching difficult amongst other things. Sorted this and had a major cull of total crap. (Save your comments of "It's all crap" gents, that's a given after all).
My plan, and we all know how quickly they change, is to be continually creating the "Collections" (Albums) in LR, which are the stepping stone between LR and Pf (Adobes' abbv., for Adobe Portfolio). Then, at least once a week, 🤭 post to my Pf. Let's wait and see.
Wow! Just checked that my daily backup was successful this morning only to find that it was still running. It starts at 07:00 everyday and as I checked just before closing down for the day it was still running. The following are the stats after it had finished.
Time elapsed" 12h 8m 22s
Files copied: 32,350 (531.3GB)
So I'm guessing I must have carried out a fair spring clean yesterday.
