Yesterday I was playing around with my old Pentax Spotmatic SPII, the one I had mentioned earlier and which I noted that I thought it had laid down and died.
I'm not sure what I did but I managed to release the mirror and started taking some images again. The mirror locked up again a few times but somehow I kept managing to persuade it down again. Have a feeling it needs a good clean and oiling up a wee bit. Think I'll give it a go. I hope it works cos I'm finding it quite fun again using it, in conjunction with a hand held light meter. The built in one really did give up the ghost years ago. I'm finding out I'm having to re-learn everything again having been spoilt by the digital age. Spoilt is the right word. Check out the Projects page. Added the Glass factory photos, for what they are worth. Not a lot I'm afraid
First thing I learnt this morning was that for outdoor projects like this one choose a warmer time of year. Brass Monkeys got nuttin on me. Unfortunately you cannot hear my high pitched writing.
Was colder on our trip to Norway but there it was not necessary to work without gloves for two and a half hours on that trip, -6 degrees C. Got some pics which will come up in a couple of days. Have to go back again tomorrow as the more interesting motif's are inside of the building. The building, I learnt today, has been made a listed building so at some stage presumably will be renovated. In the meantime it is showing pretty heavy wear and tear along with a lot of vandalism. Generally I was a bit disappointed close up, but I think if I spend sometime tomorrow inside there will be lots of interesting detail. The building photos however are not very likely to arouse nay ones interest other than mine. |
